Carr Rambler Tweed

$2,370.00
sold out

“What’s the best grab ‘n’ go American-voiced combo on the market today?” Throw that question out to any group of guitarists—at an amp show, on a web board, or wherever these folks congregate—and the reply “Carr Rambler, hands down” will come back surprisingly often.

Long before the birth of Carr Amplifiers, I spent years playing, repairing, modifying and intently listening to classic guitar amps. The Rambler was one of my earliest signature designs, and today it is still one of our most popular models. Why? It's no accident that the Rambler succeeds in delivering classic American 'deluxe' tone with dramatically expanded clean headroom, solid bass response and the option of 26 watt pentode or 13 watt triode operation. The Rambler simply reflects my desire to improve and refine the original concept of an appropriately powered 1x12 club amp with reverb and tremolo. Rambler owners describe their amps as being warm, full and round, with a surprisingly high threshold of clean tone, (which also makes the Rambler uniquely suited to virtually any overdrive pedal ever built). The Rambler is considered by many to be the quintessential club amp, voiced to meet the needs of virtually any player, and all types of music.

Picture that all-time favorite desert-island amp that originated in the mid ’60s and make it the bigger and better in tone and features, while keeping it remarkably portable and compact at just 40 lbs for the 1x12" combo. Expand it with the bold, articulate tone of two Class-A cathode-biased 5881 (6L6GC type) power tubes, tube-driven tremolo and spring reverb, an added Mid control that the original never had, and Carr’s acclaimed point-to-point, hand-wired construction, and the Rambler is the quintessential club amp.

Rich, warm, full, round and clear, with a surprising threshold of clean tone, the Rambler’s the ultimate foundation for shimmering chime, twang, jangle and jazz. But these same qualities also make it an outstanding pedal platform, coupling with a wide variety of boost, overdrive, fuzz and distortion pedals like they were one with its own circuit.

The Rambler also boasts an in-house crafted, dovetail-jointed cabinet made from solid North Carolina yellow pine, with floating speaker baffle for optimal resonance and sonic character. A comfortable, heavy duty leather carrying handle and standard black Tolex covering or a range of custom-color options complete the package.

The Rambler — grab it, and go forth into untold depths of sonic splendor!
